WHAT WILL inspire
TOMORROW'S EXPLORATIONS

What inspires us to travel is as unique and varied as our experiences when we travel. Whether you’ve had your next destination in mind for years or you’re looking to finally spend those hard-earned annual leave, it’s always a good time to start thinking about your next trip.

Maybe you’ll find inspiration for your next destination. Or maybe you’ll get inspired to finally hit “book.” But what we hope the most is that you simply spark your sense of wander.

EXPERIENCE A SLICE OF LIFE ON EXPLORATIONS

ITALY'S TREASURES

JUNE 2ND, STRESA: The cruise to Isola dei Pescatori is just stunning—what a way to start my trip. I loved the quaint atmosphere of the island’s village. And dinner was perfect!

JUNE 6TH, VILLA LECCHI: Now I know why so many people dream about sleeping in a Tuscan villa, or why you see it so beautifully depicted in movies. It’s everything you imagine it to be and more. I’ve never had such sweet dreams in my life.

JUNE 9TH, TUSCANY: Not being much of a cook, I didn’t know how I would feel about making lunch with a chef. It sounded intimidating at first, but I gave it a try and loved it! Plus, the meal was delicious!

JUNE 11TH, MURANO: I had only seen glass making on television, but standing there in a real artisan’s workshop, seeing him work his craft gave me a new appreciation for the skill that goes into creating such delicate works of art.

SWITZERLAND: HIDDEN TRAILS & MAJESTIC PEAKS

AUGUST 25TH, NEUCHATEL: Neuchatel is amazing! It’s like no one knows about this amazing little gem of a town yet. Our room overlooks beautiful Lake Neuchatel and the streets are so walkable. Excited for what’s to come, though I’m not sure I want to leave yet!

AUGUST 27TH, BERN: Today we explored Bern’s Old City on our own. I loved the urban vibe and its easygoing culture. We stopped at a hip local restaurant and sampled some craft beer before we took the train to Zermatt.

AUGUST 28TH, LÄDERACH: I’m not sure how I will ever be able to eat chocolate at home again after the tasting workshop we had at Läderach today. Swiss chocolate is the ultimate indulgence. I wonder how much of it I can fit in my carry-on…

AUGUST 30TH, VEVEY:Walking along the Lavaux vineyards and touring a family-run winery followed by a walk along the Lavaux World Heritage vineyards, I got a real sense for how important wine is in Swiss culture—and it’s no wonder why. Swiss wine is perfection.

COSTA RICA: A WORLD OF NATURE

FEBRUARY 12TH, TORTUGUERO: Talk about being in the right place at the right time! We were at the world’s first green turtle research station, when by a stroke of luck we saw something amazing. On the beach were dozens of baby turtles making their way to the ocean. I’ll never forget it.

FEBRUARY 14TH, SELVA VERDE LODGE: I knew Costa Rica would be the perfect place to see my beloved hummingbirds and butterflies, but I met some new favorites! We saw an adorable monkey in a tree going about his day and another came up and stole a sugar packet right off the deck. I’m in love.

FEBRUARY 15TH, SARAPIQUÍ: I have never tasted fruit as fresh as I did today on our visit to a pineapple plantation. My taste buds will never be the same again.

FEBRUARY 17TH, ARENAL: Today, I decided to step way outside my comfort zone and zip lined through the jungle! I was scared at first, but I’m so glad I did it! Every once in a Whilst, you have to push the boundaries a little.

THE PLAINS OF AFRICA

OCTOBER 14TH, SHABA RESERVE: Sitting down to speak with a Samburu tribe member was a special moment for us today. Learning about their culture and traditions was fascinating and eye-opening.

OCTOBER 17TH, LAKE NAKURU: This morning we ate a traditional breakfast right in the bush. This is safari life at its best! The scenery was gorgeous and the food was delicious.

OCTOBER 19TH, SAROVA MARA TENTED CAMP: I’ve never camped like this before. This deluxe tent has all the little luxuries and doesn’t really look like a tent at all. I fell asleep last night listening to the wildlife in the distance. Amazing!

OCTOBER 23RD, NAIROBI: We went on 11 game drives in 14 days. 11! Each one was different and had its own magnificent surprise. Favourite moment: Seeing a lion on the side of the road let out a loud roar as we passed by.

MYSTERIES OF INDIA

JANUARY 15TH, OLD DELHI: Today we met up with a local guide and took our first rickshaw ride on the way to checking out the food scene in Old Delhi. It was exhilarating. I am now officially obsessed with Indian cuisine.

JANUARY 17TH, UDAIPUR: I did yoga in India with an expert teacher today! Not only do I feel relaxed and centered, but connected to Indian culture in a way I couldn’t have imagined.

JANUARY 20TH, RANTHAMBORE: With a naturalist by our side, we got to visit Ranthambore National Park and take two game drives in search of Bengal tigers. My camera is tired, but I got the best shot of the most majestic cats I have ever seen.

JANUARY 24TH, AGRA: There’s nothing like the Taj Mahal at sunrise. I stood in awe as it transitioned from a soft grey to baby pink and eventually a glowing red. It felt like the monument was slowly revealing itself to us as the sun came up.
